From Contract to close

A few things to know once you've submitted your offer on a home.

  • Under contract means that a seller has accepted an offer on the property, but the sale is not final until all contingencies are met. It typically takes 4 – 8 weeks from the date the offer is accepted until the sale is complete

  • There’s a lot to do before you close. Making sure the utilities are activated or transferred is really important. Make sure to reserve a moving company and set up a moving date. Transferring closing funds the day before helps to prevent delays at the closing table. Lastly, I will schedule a final walkthrough to tour the property, one more time, before you sign the paperwork.

  • This is a big day, it’s when you get the keys to your new home! Make sure you nave your government issued ID with you and be ready to sign a lot of documents. The title company will provide you with copies of all the paperwork.

  • A lot of questions may arise about your new home that you may not have thought of before. I will be available to you to help answer those questions and reach out to the prior owners if needed.
